Weed management remains one of the biggest challenges in paddy cultivation, often demanding high labor and chemical costs. Farmers Arun Kumar and Lavanya from Jaya Lakshmi Organic Farm share their successful experience using a natural weed control solution during the current Kharif season.
Successful Weed Control in Indigenous Paddy
The couple cultivated indigenous paddy on half an acre in Hemajipur village, Balanagar mandal, Mahabubnagar district. Lavanya applied the weed control solution in July, and the results were highly encouraging. The field recorded 100% weed control, with no regrowth observed throughout the crop stage.
Visible Improvement in Crop Health
According to the farmers, the paddy tillers, grass density, and crop color remained uniform and healthy. The absence of weeds allowed the crop to grow without competition for nutrients, resulting in better vigor and overall field appearance.
Reduced Costs and Farmer Satisfaction
Last year, the couple spent nearly ₹9,000 per acre per weeding operation across two seasons. This season, the natural weed control solution helped eliminate repeated expenses, significantly reducing cultivation costs and effort.
Growing Farmer Adoption
Many farmers who used this weed control solution over the past two seasons have expressed satisfaction with its performance. Its adoption is steadily increasing across the Telugu states, especially among farmers practicing organic and natural farming.
