From Chemical Dependency to Organic Confidence
Initially unfamiliar with organic farming, Venkatabhadra Raju adopted natural cultivation methods based on guidance from Rangaraju. He replaced chemical fertilizers and pesticides with organic formulations and traditional mixtures. Over time, he observed healthier plant growth, stronger root systems, and better soil conditions, which increased his confidence in sustainable farming practices and long-term crop stability.
Natural Inputs and Application Methods
The farmer prepared organic solutions using cow urine, cow dung, jaggery, and pulse flour, mixed thoroughly in water drums. These mixtures were applied through drip irrigation, ensuring uniform distribution to each palm. This method improved soil microbial activity, strengthened roots, enhanced nutrient absorption, and supported steady plant development without harming soil health.
Stronger Trees and Storm Resistance
During a severe cyclone, many nearby plantations suffered major damage. However, his palm oil trees remained standing with healthy leaves and intact trunks. The farmer strongly believes that organic treatments improved stem strength, root anchorage, and overall plant resilience, helping his plantation withstand harsh climatic conditions and avoid heavy crop loss.
Improved Fruit Size, Weight, and Oil Quality
After treatment, fruit bunch size increased significantly, along with better nut weight and shine. The farmer noticed healthier fruit formation and consistent development. Improved fruit weight directly enhanced oil yield and profitability, proving that organic nutrition can positively impact both crop quality and overall farm income in palm oil cultivation.
Disease Management and Sustainable Farming Vision
The farmer observed that early organic treatment helped manage Ganoderma symptoms and prevented severe plant damage. Regular monitoring, timely application, and maintaining clean field conditions supported long-term disease control. Encouraged by these results, he now fully supports organic farming as a sustainable, cost-effective, and environmentally responsible approach.
